Xangati and Teradici Collaborate to Deliver Continuous and Real-Time PCoIP Performance Visibility for VDI Deployments
All Key PCoIP Performance Metrics Presented in Graphically Rich Views and Via DVR Recordings for Comprehensive Performance Tracking with Xangati VDI Dashboard

Cupertino, CA – August 23, 2011 – Xangati, the recognized leader in infrastructure performance management, today announced a technology partnership with Teradici, the developer of the innovative PC-over-IP® (PCoIP®) protocol that enables a true PC experience for desktop virtualization, to visualize PCoIP performance statistics in real-time in the new release of its Xangati Management Dashboard (XMD) suite, also announced today (http://www.xangati.com/news/full360). The technology agreement will allow Xangati to provide customers with a live and continuous view of PCoIP statistics within a virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) environment through the Xangati VDI Dashboard, a key product offering in its XMD suite.

“Across the board, enterprises are relying on the PCoIP protocol for their VDI deployments for its ability to provide a better user experience,” said Alan Robin, CEO of Xangati. “Our collaboration with Teradici ensures that customers have the support that they need to successfully track the performance of PCoIP and deliver the desktop to their end users in a seamless and reliable way.”
“Xangati’s VDI performance management solution provides additional insurance for a great user experience,” said Dan Cordingley, president and CEO,Teradici. “Having the ability to continuously track and monitor all of the dynamic interactions impacting the VDI session allows IT managers to quickly and easily troubleshoot and optimize their VDI environment. By partnering with performance management leader like Xangati, Teradici enhances business’ ability to guarantee performance and benefit from the value offered through the PCoIP protocol for their VDI implementations.”

The Xangati VDI Dashboard will include a PCoIP session viewer, allowing administrators to see inside the PCoIP protocol in real-time and select and track performance measures, such as end-to-end latency, packet loss, available bandwidth, or PCoIP composition. With the Xangati VDI Dashboard, administrators can also view the PCoIP data alongside other critical components impacting the VDI – all in a single pane of glass – for real-time and comprehensive troubleshooting. This joint functionality provides a significant boost in productivity for VDI administrators who previously could only get this information from logs after the fact. Administrators can now see the end-user experience in real time, allowing them to troubleshoot issues with the full-context and continuous visualization of the performance of the PCoIP protocol – and to know when network issues might be at the heart of the problem.
In addition to live insights, PCoIP interactions can also be captured through Xangati’s trademark DVR recordings – providing VDI teams with a Visual Trouble Ticket by showing all the data recorded for PCoIP. The Visual Trouble Ticket allows managers to easily playback and rewind recordings to see exactly what was happening at the time of an event.

The Xangati VDI Dashboard is the first solution to manage VDI to operational scale, comprehensively tracking all infrastructure components that impact VDI performance, including every client, desktop, network link, host and server – and now including full support for the PCoIP protocol. The product features Xangati’s patent-pending Performance Health Engine that continuously monitors the VDI and visually alerts administrators about any issues that impact the end-user experience both in and outside of the infrastructure.

About PCoIP Technology
Teradici’s PCoIP protocol is an innovative remote display technology that allows the user’s desktop operating system, applications, and data to reside in the datacenter, eliminating the need for traditional desktop workstations, PCs and thin clients, and delivers an uncompromised user experience to each person, anywhere, over any network and to any type of device without incurring the security risks associated with having data reside in remote PCs, laptops, or tablets. PCoIP technology provides high resolution, full frame rate 3D graphics and high-definition media, with full USB peripheral interoperability, locally over a LAN or remotely over a high-latency WAN. It compresses, encrypts and encodes the entire computing experience at the datacenter and transmits it ‘pixels only’ across a standard IP network to secure, stateless PCoIP zero clients, thin clients, and mobile devices.

The protocol is implemented in several software configurations, including VMware View™, the industry leading desktop virtualization platform as well as in silicon for hardware accelerated performance and enhanced security. A growing ecosystem of over 30 third-party vendors provide a wide variety of PCoIP products including server plug-in cards, rack and tower workstations, blade PCs, zero clients, integrated monitors, and IP phones with PCoIP capability.
